India batter Harleen Deol has joined Barbados Tridents as their fifth overseas signing for WCPL 2026, with the deal taking effect from September 11, 2026. She will be available for all remaining fixtures in the tournament, which runs through to the final on September 17, 2026, with every match staged at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Deol’s arrival brings the total number of Indian players in WCPL 2026 to five, filling one quarter of the 20 overseas berths distributed across the competition. Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar were already representing the Tridents, while Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia are competing for Trinbago Knight Riders. Deol is currently outside both the senior India and India A setups.

Barbados Tridents enter this campaign as three-time defending champions, having claimed the WCPL title in each of the three preceding seasons: 2023, 2024 and 2025. They began WCPL 2026 on September 5, suffering a 21-run defeat to Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament opener.

What does Deol add to the Tridents squad?

Deol brings a record of 311 runs from 20 innings across 28 T20 Internationals, at a strike rate of 92.01. Her most recent appearance at international level was against Australia in March 2026, after which she has been absent from national selection. In the Women’s Premier League, she has accumulated 649 runs across 28 matches, representing Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz at a strike rate of 115.68.

Her franchise experience across high-pressure T20 competitions makes her a practical addition for a Tridents side seeking a fourth successive title. In the September 5 defeat, Navgire contributed 28 off 21 balls for the Tridents, while Pandey claimed 3 for 17 and Bhatia struck 35 off 28 balls for the Knight Riders. Deol’s inclusion strengthens the Tridents’ batting options as they look to recover from that opening setback.

What fixtures remain for Barbados Tridents in WCPL 2026?

Deol will be available for the Tridents’ next clash against Jamaica Empress on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Kensington Oval. Their next scheduled fixture is against Guyana Amazon Warriors on Monday, September 14, 2026, also at the same venue.

The tournament final is set for September 17, 2026, at Kensington Oval. Deol is eligible to feature in every remaining Tridents match from the Jamaica Empress fixture onwards. The Tridents will need to win their remaining group matches to stay in contention for a fourth consecutive WCPL crown.
