If there is one name that is bursting onto the scene in world cricket right now, it is England batter Harry Brook‘s. The 24-year-old has been in sensational form recently. Currently playing against New Zealand, Brook has been dominating the bowling attack of the opposition.

Brook was an important factor in England’s commanding victory against the Kiwis in the first Test at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, where he scored 89 and 54 in the two innings to help England register a 267-run win. His recent performances have caught the eyes of many and former English skipper Michael Vaughan recently took to Twitter to heap praises on the youngster.

“For the last 10 years, all kids have wanted to bat and be like Joe Root. For the next 10 years, they will all want to bat like Harry Brook,” Vaughan tweeted.

Brook broke the long-standing record of Vinod Kambli

After his continued sensational performances, Brook shattered the long-standing record of former Indian batter Vinod Kambli for scoring the most runs after nine Test innings.

Notably, he has become the first player to score 800 or more runs after nine innings. Kambli previously held the record with 798 runs; apart from Kambli, Brook also breezed past legends like Sunil Gavaskar, who had 778 runs in his first nine innings, and Everton Weekes (777).

Many believe that Brook is heading where very few have been before. The 24-year-old has been hailed as the future of English cricket, and many stars have opined that Brook is going to be a global superstar with the way he is currently playing.
