Two struggling sides England and Sri Lanka lock horns in Match 25 of ODI World Cup 2023 on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Both teams have played four games each but have managed to register only victory so far in the campaign.

Jos Buttler and his men haven’t performed up to the expectations as they have lost three matches against New Zealand, Afghanistan and South Africa. Their only win came against another weak-looking Bangladeshi side in Dharamsala. With just two points and a net run rate of -1.248, the reigning champions England are languishing at the ninth position in the table.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s success came against the Netherlands in Lucknow. The Lankan Lions lost three encounters against the South Africa, Pakistan, and Australia. With two points and an NRR of -1.048, they are placed just above England in the eighth spot in the table. The defending champions need to turn around things quickly as they look to keep their campaign with a win over the Lions on a batting-friendly Bangalore track.
