England are set to take on India in the second T20I of the five-match series at Old Trafford, Manchester, on July 4. The opening T20I in Durham was washed out after only India’s innings could be completed, leaving the series finely poised heading into the second game.

Although the weather forecast for Manchester is currently favourable, the possibility of rain cannot be completely ruled out, as intermittent showers are common during this time of year in England. Any interruptions could still have an impact on the contest.

Old Trafford has hosted two T20Is between England and India previously, with both teams winning one match each, making the venue an evenly balanced battleground ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Weather forecast in Manchester

According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, there is only a 10% chance of precipitation at Old Trafford, Manchester, on July 4, indicating that rain is unlikely to significantly disrupt the second T20I between England and India. Cloudy conditions are expected throughout the day, with temperatures remaining pleasant.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM IST (2:30 PM local time), while the toss will take place at 6:30 PM IST (2:00 PM local time). Although the probability of rain increases to around 30% later in the evening (around 8:00 PM local time), only light showers are forecast, and a full match is still expected to be played.

What happened in the first T20I?

After winning the toss, India captain Shreyas Iyer elected to bat first but suffered an early setback as Sanju Samson fell to Saqib Mahmood and Ishan Kishan was run out during the powerplay. India recovered through a blistering 82-run stand between Abhishek Sharma and Iyer in just 38 balls. Abhishek smashed 59 off 24 deliveries, while Iyer anchored the innings with a composed 68 from 47 balls. Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 42 off 21 provided the late flourish, helping India post 189/7. Mahmood starred with the ball for England, returning impressive figures of 3/33 in four overs.
