England have named an unchanged XI for the third T20I against India, with the fixture set for Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Tuesday, July 7. Harry Brook will again lead the side as the hosts look to build on the 1-0 series advantage they currently hold in the five-match contest.
The English camp claimed a four-wicket victory in the second T20I at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Saturday to go ahead in the series. The opener was abandoned due to rain without a completed result, leaving the series at 1-0 in England’s favour going into Tuesday’s contest. India will need to find a response at Trent Bridge to stay in the fight.
England’s unchanged XI for the third T20I
Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, Harry Brook (C), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue
Phil Salt and Jos Buttler once again open the batting for the English side, with Jacob Bethell holding his middle-order spot after catching the eye in the previous game at Old Trafford. Tom Banton and Sam Curran add further depth across the top and middle portions of the innings, while Will Jacks offers the all-round flexibility that has become a key part of England’s T20 setup. With the ball, Jofra Archer is England’s main pace threat, backed up by Josh Tongue and Curran. Adil Rashid‘s leg-spin and Liam Dawson’s left-arm variety give Brook a solid spin combination to work with in the middle overs.
Can England seal their series lead at Trent Bridge?
A win for England at Trent Bridge would put Harry Brook’s side in an almost unassailable position with two matches still to come. For India, Tuesday becomes an immediate must-win as the touring side looks to level the series and stay alive in the contest. The fourth and fifth T20Is follow after Trent Bridge, with England keen to make the trip count and take a commanding grip on the series.
