England have announced their playing XI for the first ODI against India, scheduled to be played on Tuesday, July 14, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The match marks the beginning of the three-match ODI series between the two sides.
England will be led by Harry Brook, who enters the series high on confidence after guiding his team to a dominant 4-0 victory over India in the recently concluded T20I series.
The hosts have made only a couple of changes to the side that featured in the T20Is, with Ben Duckett and Joe Root returning to the XI to add experience and stability. As expected, Jacob Bethell will open the batting alongside Duckett.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler is set to achieve a significant milestone, as the wicketkeeper-batter will make his 200th ODI appearance for England. Buttler made his ODI debut against Pakistan in Dubai on February 21, 2012.
