The 2026-27 Duleep Trophy, the 63rd edition of the BCCI-administered competition, ran from August 23 to September 10, 2026. The six-team single-elimination tournament featured the original five zones alongside North East Zone, with the final played between East Zone and South Zone at Chepauk, Chennai.

Defending champions Central Zone and 2025-26 runners-up South Zone received byes directly to the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals, North Zone beat West Zone by 52 runs while East Zone beat North East Zone by an innings and 210 runs.

Here are top three run-getters in Duleep Trophy 2026:

1. Ishan Kishan (East Zone)

Ishan Kishan captained East Zone through the tournament and finished as the leading run-scorer in Duleep Trophy 2026. He accumulated 409 runs across three games at a remarkable average of 102.25, which placed him well clear of the field. A large portion of those runs came in the final against South Zone at Chepauk, where he scored 270 runs. The left-handed batter is a regular in India’s T20I setup, but his impressive knock in the Duleep Trophy final against South Zone could provide a strong starting point for the selectors to consider him for the Indian Test side as well.

2. Tilak Varma (South Zone)

South Zone captain Tilak Varma was among the most productive batters in the tournament despite playing only two games. He scored 266 runs across those matches, which included one century and two fifties. His consistent contributions with the bat were central to South Zone’s run to the final, where they faced East Zone at Chepauk. Unfortunately, Tilak could not help his team in the final much as East Zone defeated them at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

3. Kumar Kushagra (East Zone)

Kumar Kushagra represented East Zone and finished third among the tournament’s run-scorers. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 224 runs across three games at an average of 44.80. His tally included one fifty and one century, making him a key contributor in East Zone’s campaign alongside captain Ishan Kishan. He came in as a top-order batter in the quarter-final and semis. But, he had to adapt in the final coming in as a middle order batter and scored the ton brilliantly. He supported Ishan well in the middle and dominated the opposition bowlers with precision.
