The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been an entertaining tournament so far as fans have got to see some breathtaking cricketing action unfold in the event. However, several fans have also expressed their disappointment with the ticket booking process for the cricketing extravaganza where they’ve been made to wait for hours in the virtual queue only to see tickets being sold out at the last minute.
Ahead of India’s eighth fixture against South Africa on Sunday, November 05 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, an FIR has been registered against BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), BookMyShow and CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) by a fan as general public has not been able to book tickets for the mega clash.

In the complaint, the person has alleged that a large number of tickets originally meant to be released for the general public, have been hoarded by the BCCI, CAB and BookMyShow to be sold to the black marketers for personal gains. The Kolkata Police has swiftly taken action and issued a notice to CAB and BookMyShow seeking appearance of their officials on Thursday, November 02 to assist in the investigation.
