CSK loyal fans marry in unique IPL-themed wedding; creative invitation card goes viral

The game of cricket has been synonymous with unwavering love, a crazy fan following and beyond. Hence, it comes as no surprise that amid India’s biggest cricket extravaganza in the form of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), fans are leaving no stone unturned to show their die-hard love for their team and favourite players alike. Consequently, a couple recently decided to transform their biggest moment of their life into an IPL-themed wedding.

Notably, a couple is breaking the internet by showing their benevolent love for their favourite team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The couple took their creative side a notch level up and not just they had their wedding theme around the IPL but also ensured to have their invitation cards in place oozing their sheer love for cricket. CSK fans Giftleen and Martin ended up making their wedding invitation cards having an uncanny resemblance to IPL match tickets.

Now speaking of the wedding invitation card, the content was quite fascinating and eye-catching at the same time. The card starts requesting gracing the occasion while hilariously mentioning the entry and exit fees. However, unlike the match tickets attracting monetary value, the couple mentioned blessings and attendance to suffice for the entries.

“Welcome you all, request the honour of your presence. Entry fee: Your Love, Exit Fee: your blessings and Total value: your presence,” the creative invitation card mentioned.

Furthermore, the card did not disappoint the cricket frenzy people by having a preview section as well. Calling each other as teammates for life, the couple hoped that their start will be as enthralling as a game of cricket. Not just that, the couple also gave a funny twist to their card by adding a match prediction. As per the prediction, they hoped that their partnership would be “made for each other” and requested the guests to mark their dates for the occasion.

“Match Preview: The journey of teammates turned soul mates, they are prepared for the inaugural game and wish it will be a beautiful start. Match Prediction: Made for each other, don’t miss the event. Block your calendar,” the card further stated.

“We Martin Robert and Giftleen Persi invite you to be there and make our day extra special as we walk in from the pavilion and begin a lifelong partnership. Save the date and be there early to get good seats, because this is a live and exclusive event. This invite not only entitles your entry to the event, but also your friends and family who wish to accompany you. If you can’t make it for the marriage, no problem we request you to rock your presence at the reception,” the invitation concluded.

Chennai Super Kings suffer their third defeat, Lucknow climb to fifth spot in IPL 2024

Meanwhile, speaking of the match which transpired, Chennai were asked to bat first by the hosts, Lucknow Super Giants. The visitors did not have the best of starts as they lost Rachin Ravindra early on and they keep losing wickets at regular intervals. Even though opener Ajinkya Rahane got a start he failed to convert it into a big knock for his side. Thereafter, in the middle phase of the game, all rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a vital fifty to keep CSK in the game.

LSG continued their supreme run at home and kept posing questions to their opponent until former CSK skipper and legend MS Dhoni arrived at the crease. The talismanic batter continued his power-hitting magic and smacked LSG bowlers around the park during his unbeaten (28* off 9) blitzkrieg. As a result, the ‘Men in Yellow’ posted a decent total of 176 on the board.

In reply, Lucknow’s skipper KL Rahul led from the front with his bat and scored a match-defining half-century (82 off 53) and gave a strong start for the hosts with his partner Quinton de Kock. This meant that CSK failed to get back into the game in the powerplay phase and eventually lost the game by eight wickets. Now, LSG will gear up to face the same opponent in Chennai in the upcoming IPL 2024 fixture while CSK will look to stay in the top three by bouncing back against Lucknow.
