The Chennai Super Kings have made a grand unveiling of their IPL 2026 jersey, releasing a Dencoming video that instantly went viral across social media. Featuring MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Sarfaraz Khan, the nearly four-minute trailer displays nostalgia and the #WhistlePodu spirit.
The “CSK Dencoming” series has grown into a much-awaited tradition. The concept marks the arrival of players in Chennai for pre-season preparations. Over the years, it has evolved from simple arrival videos. This season, the franchise raised the bar by presenting the jersey launch as a spy thriller.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad plays a guiding newcomers through a fictional operation at the CSK base. The suspense peaks when the jerseys are found missing, culminating in the reveal of the iconic No. 7 shirt of MS Dhoni. The moment sparked widespread excitement, with fans celebrating the continued presence of ‘Thala’ in yellow. Within hours of release, the video amassed thousands of likes, reposts, and over 200,000 views.
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old icon was spotted at the airport in a simple maroon T-shirt. Unlike last year’s cryptic “One Last Time” message that had stirred retirement speculation, this time Dhoni let his presence do the talking. CSK’s official channels shared visuals of him being welcomed by a sea of yellow-clad supporters.
The CSK pre-season camp commenced on March 1 at the franchise’s high-performance centre, with CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirming Dhoni’s participation from day one. Around 15 Indian players are expected to attend initially, while those involved in international commitments will join later.
There are also subtle changes in Dhoni’s preparation. Known for using one of the heaviest bats, he has reportedly shifted to a lighter 1.23 kg bat to enhance bat speed against modern pace attacks. His training routine has also evolved, focusing on low-impact sessions such as swimming and strength work to maintain peak fitness.
