Beth Mooney returns to the top of batting rankings after Women’s T20 World Cup final blitz, Shree Charani reigns bowlers rankings

Australian wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney has returned to the top of the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings after her Player of the Tournament campaign in Australia’s successful Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 victory.

Mooney, who is a senior batter and took over as the wicketkeeper after the retirement of Alyssa Healy, scored 238 runs in seven matches, striking at 142.51. She scored a brilliant 64 off 47 balls in the final as Australia chased down 151 against England to lift their record seventh title. She leapfrogs her teammate and opening partner Georgia Voll to take the top spot in the rankings with 785 points. This is the fifth time she has topped the charts and has spent over four years in that span. Only compatriot Karen Rolton has spent more time at the top of the rankings than Mooney.

Laura Wolvaardt, Hayley Matthews and Smriti Mandhana round off the top five, holding their positions. England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt, on the back of her twin half-centuries in the semifinal and final, moves up by five spots into 16th place.

India’s Shree Charani remains atop the bowler rankings

Among the bowlers, India left-arm spinner N Shree Charani holds her place at the top of the T20I bowling rankings. She was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 14 scalps despite India’s dismal season. England, who finsihed runners-up as hosts, have four bowlers in the top seven. Sophie Ecclestone swapped places with teammate Charlie Dean to go up to second place, while Lauren Bell drops down to 5th and Linsey Smith is in seventh place. 

West Indies skipper Matthews retains her place at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings. Ashleigh Gardner jumps up to sixth place, swapping with Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana, who drops to seventh place. England all-rounder Freya Kemp, who scored an unbeaten 44 off 28 balls in the final, striking at 157.89 throughout the tournament and picked up seven wickets, is the biggest mover, jumping a whopping 31 places to sit at number 27 in the charts.
