The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced that the revenue generated from the third T20I of the three-match series between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be donated to the unfortunate families’ victims of those affected by the tragic jet crash at the Milestone College in Uttara as well as to the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation.

Aminul Islam Bulbul – the BCB President, spoke on Bangladesh cricket’s way of observing a moment of remembrance for the victims of Monday’s fatal crash, which has taken at least 30 lives up until now. More than 170 were injured after the training jet crashed into the school campus in the capital. As a result, the board wants to do its part towards a social cause.

“Cricket in Bangladesh is more than a sport, it’s a part of our national soul. At times of grief and remembrance, we must stand together as a community. The BCB is humbled to contribute in a small way to the healing process for those who have suffered so deeply in these recent tragedies. Our thoughts remain with the families and loved ones of the victims,” stated Bulbul, as quoted in the press release from the board dated Thursday, July 24.

Hosts register debut T20I series win versus Pakistan 

Speaking of the series, Bangladesh claimed a 2-1 victory over Pakistan by winning the first two games by 7 wickets and 8 runs, respectively. Parvez Hossain Emon (56* off 39) and Jaker Ali (55 off 48) secured the Player of the Match accolades for their respective half-centuries. The hosts bowled quite magnificently in both these matches.

It was not quite the way that the Bangla Tigers would have liked to wrap up the series, though. They ended up suffering a heavy loss by 74 runs in the final Dhaka tie. Sahibzada Farhan’s 63 off 41 powered Pakistan to 178/7 before a well-rounded bowling display helped them skittle out the opposition for a meagre 104 in 16.4 overs. Mohammad Saifuddin (35* off 34) and Mohammad Naim (10 off 17) were the only players with double-digit scores.
