India and Bangladesh will lock horns in the final Super Four stage clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 on Friday, September 15, at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
India have booked their spot in the final of the Continental Championship after a thrilling win against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are already out of the tournament, having suffered defeats against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, respectively.
Speaking of India’s clash against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. In the rain-marred encounter, India scored a below-par 213, with Rohit Sharma scoring a half-century. Rising sensation Dunith Wellalage was the standout performer of Sri Lanka, finishing with figures of 5/40.

Later, Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batters as India restricted the hosts to 172 runs in 41.3 overs. The veteran spinner finished with figures of 4/43. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets each. Wellalage was crucial with the bat as well, scoring an unbeaten 42 off 46 deliveries with the help of three fours and one six.
