Amy Hunter makes big move in latest Women’s ODI rankings after stellar show vs England

Smriti Mandhana held on to the top spot in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings following the latest update, while Amy Hunter emerged as the standout mover among batters after a productive three-match run against England.

Hunter, Ireland’s wicketkeeper-batter, climbed to 11th overall, her highest-ever ranking, accumulating 644 rating points. She registered scores of 62, 64 and 39 across the ICC Women’s Championship series, which England won 3-0. The 644-point tally places her second on the all-time list for Ireland women’s batters, with only Miriam Grealey’s 654 points, achieved in August 2000, standing above it. Despite Ireland’s series defeat, Hunter was her side’s most reliable batting presence throughout all three matches.

How did England’s batters move in the rankings?

England’s 3-0 clean sweep produced significant upward movement for several batters. Maia Bouchier advanced 13 places to 42nd after posting 104 in the opening fixture at Leicester, her second ODI hundred. That knock powered England to a successful chase of 282 with 71 balls remaining.

Sophia Dunkley moved up 26 spots to 43rd on the back of 119 at Worcester in the third ODI, also her second century at this level. England wrapped up that game by 114 runs to seal the series whitewash.

Freya Kemp jumped 37 places to 76th, having contributed 88 runs across the series at a strike rate of 117.33. Nat Sciver-Brunt dropped two places, her absence explained by ongoing rehabilitation for a calf injury. Elsewhere in the batting list, Maddy Green rose one place to sixth and Hayley Matthews climbed one spot to seventh.

Which bowlers gained ground in the updated rankings?

England’s bowling unit also registered meaningful gains. Charlie Dean moved up two places to reach joint-11th, while Lauren Filer made the sharpest climb among England’s pace bowlers, advancing 14 places to 39th.

Ireland’s leg-spinner Cara Murray re-entered the top 50, rising 16 places to 50th in the bowling rankings. Her movement reflects the wickets she contributed across the series even as Ireland were unable to avoid the clean sweep. In three games, she bagged eight wickets, more than any other bowler in the series.
