Afghanistan’s predicted XI for 2nd T20I against India

Afghanistan face India in the 2nd T20I of their three-match series on September 15 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The visitors trail 0-1 after a disappointing performance in the opening match, where India secured a seven-wicket victory.

Afghanistan will look to bounce back with a balanced XI that combines experienced all-rounders with emerging talent. Captain Ibrahim Zadran will lead the side as they attempt to level the series in the nation’s capital.

Top order

Rahmanullah Gurbaz continues as wicketkeeper-batter after his stellar form in T20 leagues. Sediqullah Atal, a left-handed batter, occupies the one-drop position and brings a cautious yet capable approach to big-match situations. Darwish Rasooli completes the top-order unit, providing stability at the start of the innings.

Middle order

Azmatullah Omarzai strengthens the middle order as a seam-bowling all-rounder who regularly opens the bowling and provides reliable batting depth. His dual role makes him invaluable to Afghanistan’s balance. Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi offer experience and flexibility as all-rounders, providing the team with multiple bowling options and middle-order stability. Their presence ensures Afghanistan can adapt to match situations.

Lower order and bowlers

Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad form a potent spin attack, while Fazalhaq Farooqi provides pace-bowling support.
