Considerable the positive start to his international career, he could be expected to play a vital role for England in home conditions this series.

Sai Sudharsan was incorporated in the Test unit for the first time in this series. However, his best came in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG, where he announced his arrival on the big stage with a gritty century. His gameplay, filled with a lot of intent, was quite refreshing to witness, even as India lost the series 1-3.

As of the first Test, he is not a part of the XI. However, there is a growing likelihood that he could be drafted into the mix in the matches to come if either of Ravindra Jadeja or Shardul Thakur fall short of expectations to the expected level of the management.
