With the upcoming Pakistan tour of England, many English players who were playing in the Indian Premier League 2024, have left home to assume national duties. Left-arm pacer Reece Topley, who featured for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the ongoing 17th edition, has now taken his return flight to England as the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 begin for the Three Lions.

RCB will be missing the services of Reece Topley for the remainder of the season. Moreover, attacking all-rounder Will Jacks has also returned home alongside his fellow national teammate. This obviously leaves a big void in the RCB setup, as they look to secure a spot in the IPL 2024 Playoffs with a convincing win against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, May 18.

Topley being someone who can trouble the batters with his genuine out swinger, RCB will be desperate to find a like-to-like replacement for the pacer. Without further ado, let’s dive deep into some probables who might be swept in by the franchise after the ouster of Topley.

Here are the three players who could potentially replace Reece Topley in RCB’s squad-

3. Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen is a genuine pacer who can utilize his height to generate extra bounce. The Protea cricketer’s express pace can cause a lot of trouble to the opposition, especially on tricky surfaces. Similar to his twin brother Marco, Duan can provide swing with the ball and be handy as a batter lower down the order. In a short career, the all-rounder has shown great promise, and RCB may believe in the South African cricketer to get his services, keeping the Playoffs qualification chances in mind.

2. Raj Limbani

Raj Limbani had a brilliant tournament with the ball for India at the Under 19 World Cup 2024. The right-arm pacer has a brilliant seam position and is proficient in swinging the ball in. The pacer’s ability to bowl consistently in excess of 140 kmph can also attrack the Bengaluru-based franchise. While Limbani might get to feature in the Playing XI straight away, having someone like him as the bench strength won’t hurt the Royal Challengers.

1. Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar

Much like Limbani, Afghanistan’s Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar was impressive in the U-19 World Cup 2024. The ace bowler did well in the game against New Zealand, where he claimed 3/29. It impressed the selectors of the Afghan side which propelled the 16-year-old to make his international debut with the senior team at such a young age. In 3 matches at the highest level, the cricketer has 5 wickets at a bowling average of 11.20 with the best match figures of 4/15 to his name. The pacer may be roped in by RCB as the replacement for the departing Topley.
