At the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium, India and Australia clashed with each other in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23. Folding the visitors on 177 in the first innings, India were looking confident and later their batters also exuded confidence with their aggressive batting. Rohit, the captain of the Indian team, was leading from the front with his bat.

Smashing a ton, the skipper had put India in a commanding position. After the fall of five wickets, Ravindra Jadeja was accompanying him in the middle. On the second delivery of the 77th over, the left-handed batter played a shot towards the fine leg area, where Steve Smith was deployed.

Another interesting incident that happened in the first innings of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23 was Rohit getting frustrated with the cameraman for focusing on him. During Australia’a batting in the second innings, the Indian team took a review after Ravichandran Ashwin trapped Peter Handscomb leg-before-wicket (lbw).

However, on Ashwin’s appeal, the umpire didn’t give the decision in India’s favour, and Rohit took the Decision Review System (DRS) and challenged the verdict on Ashwin’s advice. Waiting for the decision eagerly, Rohit was expecting a replay of the ball, however, instead of showing the recap, broadcasters displayed Rohit on the big screen.
