TNPL 2026 | DGD vs CSG Match Prediction | 9th Match – Who Will Win Dindigul Dragons vs Chepauk Super Gillies Match?

Dindigul Dragons vs Chepauk Super Gillies – 9th Match

The 9th Match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 will see Dindigul Dragons take on Chepauk Super Gillies on Sunday, August 9, at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM local time (10:00 AM GMT / 3:30 PM IST).

Dindigul Dragons have a solid batting unit featuring Baba Indrajith, Vimal Khumar, Shivam Singh, Anuraag Rajesh Nair, Mohit Mittan, Hunny Saini, VK Vineeth, R K Jayant, and M Karthik Saran. Indrajith brings valuable experience to the middle order, while Vimal Khumar and Shivam Singh can provide stability near the top. Hunny Saini also gives Dindigul another useful batting option.

The Dragons have several players capable of contributing in multiple departments, including Nirankar Sharma, Dinesh H, Atul Vitkar, and P Bhuvaneswaran. Their ability to provide additional batting depth and bowling options gives Dindigul flexibility when building their playing combination.

Dindigul’s bowling attack is one of their biggest strengths. Varun Chakaravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, M Viju Arul, P Bhuvaneswaran, Sasidharan Ravichandran, Nirankar Sharma, and Sakthi Karuppasamy provide a good combination of pace and spin. Varun’s mystery spin can be especially dangerous during the middle overs, while Warrier can challenge the batters with the new ball.

Dindigul Dragons began their TNPL 2026 campaign with a seven-wicket victory over IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. They dismissed Tiruppur for only 107 before reaching 111 for three. However, their second match ended in defeat after they scored 170 for seven and Nellai Royal Kings successfully chased the target, reaching 172 for four in 17.4 overs.

Chepauk Super Gillies have an experienced batting lineup featuring Narayan Jagadeesan, K Aashiq, S Dinesh Raj, N Sunil Krishna, Rajalingam G, Vignesh M, Ram Arvindh, Waseem Ahmed, and Ashwanth Valthapa. Jagadeesan is the key figure in the batting unit because of his ability to build an innings, while Dinesh Raj, Aashiq, and Vignesh can increase the scoring rate when required.

The Super Gillies have useful all-round options in RS Mokit Hariharan, J Prem Kumar, Harish Aadithiya, Sujay Sivasankaran, Mohana Prasath, and Swapnil Singh. These players give Chepauk additional depth and allow the team to adjust its batting and bowling combination according to the conditions.

Chepauk’s bowling attack includes Abhishek Tanwar, M Silambarasan, Murugan Ashwin, Swapnil Singh, Lokesh Raj, B Arun, and Mohana Prasath. Tanwar can provide early breakthroughs with pace, while Silambarasan, Murugan Ashwin, Swapnil Singh, and Mohana Prasath give Chepauk several spin options for the middle overs.

Chepauk Super Gillies are still searching for their first victory of the tournament. They lost their opening match after Nellai Royal Kings scored 204 for six and dismissed Chepauk for 154. Chepauk’s batting improved dramatically in their next match as they posted 205 for eight, but IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans chased the target in only 18 overs to win by seven wickets.

The NPR College Ground has produced very different scoring conditions in TNPL 2026. Tiruppur were dismissed for 107 in the opening match, while Nellai scored 204, Chepauk made 205, and Dindigul posted 170 in subsequent games. Batters can score quickly once they settle, but quality spin and changes of pace remain important. A first-innings score of around 170-185 should be competitive, while anything above 190 could create serious pressure.

Both teams have plenty of talent, but their early-season form has been different. Chepauk have shown that they can post a big total, yet their bowling has struggled to defend scores. Dindigul have already registered a victory and possess a stronger wicket-taking combination through Varun Chakaravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, and their supporting bowlers. Playing at Dindigul also gives the Dragons familiarity with the conditions, making them slight favourites before the toss.

Expert Prediction: Dindigul Dragons have a 56% chance, while Chepauk Super Gillies have a 44% winning chance.
