Sylhet Strikers will lock horns with Comilla Victorians in the 10th match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on January 26. Sylhet Strikers have lost both their games and are languishing at the bottom of the table, while Comilla Victorians have won and lost a game each so far being fifth in the table.

Sylhet Strikers had played against Rangpur Riders in their last encounter, where Rangpur Riders won the toss and elected to field. Strikers did not start well losing the first wicket at 13 runs. They kept losing wickets one after the other and were reduced to 39 runs for five wickets. However, a good sixth-wicket partnership helped them reach a total of 120 runs. Rangpur Riders were no different, actually were a step ahead as they had lost six wickets at 39, but the seventh wicket 86 runs stand between Babar and Omarzai won them the game by four wickets.

Comilla Victorians had played against Fortune Barishal in their last encounter, where Comilla Victorians won the toss and elected to field. On a good track to bat, Barishal started decently but then lost three wickets in the powerplay itself. However, it was changed by Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim as their knocks helped them reach a good total of 161 runs. Victorians had a decent start to their chase as well, but they kept losing wickets and the match got extremely interesting towards the end as fifty from Kayes helped Victorians clinch the victory on the penultimate ball of the match.

The track at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is more helpful to batters. With good seam and swing movement off the deck, pacers are expected to do well here as well but the game might be dominated by the batters. It would be a good contest between the bat and the ball here. Teams prefer to chase the total after winning the toss, with the average first innings score being 164.
