In the 38th match of the IPL 2026, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Lucknow Super Giants endured a disappointing performance in their previous match, suffering a 40-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals. Batting first, Rajasthan posted a total of 159 runs, while Lucknow were bundled out for just 119 runs. The team received a solid start from the top order, with Mitchell Marsh scoring 55 runs and Nicholas Pooran contributing 22. However, the rest of the batting unit failed to build partnerships, which prevented Lucknow from getting anywhere close to the target.

Their bowling unit, however, delivered a commendable effort. Mohsin Khan was the standout performer, claiming two wickets for just 17 runs, while Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav also chipped in with two wickets each.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders produced an impressive performance in their previous game, registering a four-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan, batting first, managed to score a competitive 155 runs, but Kolkata successfully chased the target in the final over. Although the top order struggled, the middle order held firm, with Rinku Singh playing a match-winning knock of 53 off 34 balls, while Anukul Roy added a quickfire 29 off 16 deliveries.

With the ball, Varun Chakravarthy was the star performer, finishing with three wickets for 14 runs. Kartik Tyagi also claimed three wickets, while Sunil Narine picked up two. Although Kolkata have struggled so far this season and currently sits at the bottom of the points table, they still possess the quality and potential to stage a strong comeback from here.
