In the seventh match of the PSL 2026, Islamabad United (ISL) will take on Peshawar Zalmi (PES). Islamabad United did not have a particularly good start as they suffered a five-wicket defeat in their opening match against Multan Sultans. Batting first, Islamabad posted a total of 171, but Multan Sultans chased down the total in 18.4 overs.

However, some of the Islamabad batsmen performed well, with Mark Chapman being the best performer, scoring 40 runs in 21 balls, while young batsman Sameer Minhas also played an innings of 28 runs to take the team to a respectable total. While bowling, Shadab Khan and Salman Irshad performed brilliantly and took two wickets each.

On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi started this season on a high note, defeating Rawalpindi by five wickets. Rawalpindi, batting first, posted a score of 214 runs, which Peshawar chased down comfortably in 19.1 overs. Chasing a big total, Peshawar Zalmi’s team got a brilliant start from the top order as Mohammad Haris scored 47, while Babar Azam played an innings of 35 runs. Apart from this, Michael Bracewell also scored 35 runs in the middle order. While in the bowling department, young pacer Ali Raza performed well with two wickets.

The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium, in Lahore, is considered to be a batting-friendly surface. The surface usually promotes high-scoring games, with an average first-innings score of about 178 runs. Batters often find it favourable for aggressive stroke play, enabling them to score easily. Nonetheless, the pitch can sometimes present difficulties, as it provides good bounce and pace, sustaining a balanced contest between bat and ball.
