Zimbabwe hosts Bangladesh in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club Ground. They won the first ODI in dramatic fashion, defending a meagre total of 141 and winning by 25 runs as they bowled the Tigers out for 116. With momentum on their side, they will be looking to seal the series with a win.
The Tigers come into this series on the back of a historic ODI series win against Australia at home. They have looked like a dominant side in this format and would be looking to prove that the first ODI was just a blip and not a routine performance. With the stakes in this contest high for both teams, we take a look at the players who could influence the contest with either bat or ball.
Here are three players to watch out for from ZIM vs BAN, 2nd ODI
Blessing Muzarabani

Zimbabwe’s tall right-arm fast bowler was one of the top performers in the first ODI. Defending a total of 142, Blessing Muzarabani set the tone for the team in red, picking up the first two wickets. He looked at the top of his game with a searing spell of 2 for 24 from his 10 overs, offering significant control. Standing at 6’ 8”, Muzarabani offers fast hit-the-deck bowling with pinpoint accuracy, making him a tricky customer to deal with on wickets with variable bounce. He is lethal with the ball in all phases and has become the de facto leader of Zimbabwe’s attack.
Innocent Kaia

33-year-old batter Innocent Kaia has made waves with a magnificent 140 in the one-off Test prior to the series, which Zimbabwe won by an innings. He has found his place at number 3 in the batting lineup in the ODI side, and despite managing just a score of 26, is expected to play a key role for his team. He has scored three centuries in his last five innings and is expected to be in good touch come the decisive second ODI.
Nahid Rana

As each day progresses, Nahid Rana’s stocks as a fast bowler keep on rising. Bangladesh’s speedster took centre stage with a six-wicket haul in the first ODI despite their loss. Bowling at a fierce pace with a quick action and able to generate uncanny bounce, he has made the lives of the batters he has faced very hard as they struggled to cope with his searing bowling. Coming into the bowl after the powerplay, the Zimbabwe batter struggled with his steep bounce, folding from 45 for 3 to 133 for 9, with Rana taking all six wickets. At the end of the innings, his figures read 10-2-21-6, as he rocked the Zimbabwean batting lineup with pace and bounce. Bangladesh’s hopes will be relying on their star seamer if they are to make a comeback in this series.
