WPL 2025: Predicting top 3 batters from DC-W vs MI-W clash 

Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals clash in a huge game of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Friday. The match is set to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The last time these two sides met, the Delhi Capitals won the match by two wickets. As the halfway point, both sides are sitting pretty in the top two spots of the table. 

Delhi Capitals are second in the table with six points from five matches. In their last game the Delhi side beatthe  Gujarat Giants easily by six wickets. Mumbai Indians on the other hand are top of the table with six points from four games. Harmanpreet Kaur and her side didn’t break a sweat as they easily overhauled UP Warriorz by eight wickets.

West Indian star player Hayley Matthews has finally found her form with the bat and started to peak at the right time for the Mumbai Indians. In the game against UP Warriorz, Matthews scored 59 off 50 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Matthews played a key role in MI winning the title in the first season. The West Indian star’s form with the bat will be key for Mumbai if they have to win the title for a second time. 

2. Shafali Verma

Indian batter Shafali Varma has finally been showing glimpses of her old form with the bat. Varma has so far scored 137 runs in five matches. The 20-year-old began the season with 43 vs MI and followed it up with a duck in the next match. Varma then scored 26 and 24 versus UP in two successive matches before her quickfire 44 versus Gujarat in the last game. MI bowlers will be wary of the threat Shafali brings to the table, especially in the six overs of the match.

England’s Natalie Sciver-Brunt has been one of the best players of WPL 2025, along with Elyse Perry. The veteran star has played four games so far for MI and scored 264 runs with an average of 132. The 32-year-old began the season with her knock of 80 not out against Delhi and followed it up with 57 against Gujarat. Brunt then scored 42 vs RCB before scoring 75 not out vs UP Warriorz to help Mumbai Indians win the game.
