WCL 2025: Top 3 player battles to watch out for in ENG vs AUS

England Champions will take on Australia Champions in the third match of the World Championship of Legends 2025 on Saturday, July 19, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. It will be the second game of the season for England. England lost the match by five runs as they failed to chase down the target of 161 runs.

Australia will play their first game of the season. The Brett Lee-led side finished in first place in the points table last season and won four out of five games.

Alastair Cook and Brett Lee were fierce competitors during their prime. Lee bowled 221 deliveries to Cook in all three formats. Cook scored 120 runs against Lee and was dismissed twice. This battle will make cricket fans remember all the battles that these two had during the Ashes.

2. James Vince (England Champions) vs Nathan Coulter-Nile (Australia Champions):

Vince has been in terrific form in the T20 Blast and has scored three half-centuries in his last six outings. Meanwhile, Coulter-Nile was the leading wicket-taker for Australia last season and picked nine wickets at an average of 17. Vince will bat in the top order for England, while Coulter-Nile is likely to bowl in the powerplay. Both the players might face each other during this game.

3. Shaun Marsh (Australia Champions) vs Ryan Sidebottom (England Champions):

Marsh amassed 172 runs in six outings last season and was one of the top scorers for the team. Marsh is likely to open the innings for Australia along with Aaron Finch in this game. On the other hand, Sidebottom took one wicket for 18 runs in three overs in the first game this season.
