WCL 2025: Top 3 player battles to watch out for in AUS vs SA

The second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends 2025 will see Australia Champions taking on South Africa Champions. The match will be played on Thursday, July 31, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. South Africa lost one game in the league stage and finished in second place. Australia won and lost two games each and were in third position.

1. AB de Villiers (South Africa Champions) vs Brett Lee (Australia Champions):

The battle between two skippers, AB de Villiers and Brett Lee, would be the most exciting one. At the international level, de Villiers faced 327 deliveries from Lee and scored 197 runs. Lee dismissed de Villiers thrice in international cricket. In IPL, de Villiers faced three deliveries from Lee and scored five runs. In the WCL match between Australia and South Africa, Lee bowled six deliveries to de Villiers and gave away 13 runs.

2. Chris Lynn (Australia Champions) vs Wayne Parnell (South Africa Champions):

Chris Lynn is the leading run-scorer for Australia, while Wayne Parnell is the third-highest wicket-taker for the Proteas. Lynn faced six deliveries from Parnell in the T20 Blast 2023 and scored four runs.

3. JP Duminy (South Africa Champions) vs Nathan Coulter-Nile (Australia Champions):

JP Duminy has made 68 runs for South Africa in four innings at a strike rate of 147.82. Nathan Coulter-Nile has picked three wickets in four games at an average of 35.33. Duminy did not face any deliveries from Coulter-Nile in the last game between the two teams. Duminy has faced Coulter-Nile once in an ODI game in 2016 and failed to score a run off the three deliveries.
