WCL 2025: Predicting West Indies XI for Match 7

West Indies will face Australia in the seventh match of the ongoing World Championship of Legends (WCL 2025) at the County Ground in Northampton on July 23, 2025.

The West Indies champions have played two games and have won and lost one each. They lost to South African champions in a bowl-out, while they defeated English champions soundly by 10 runs. The Chris Gayle-led side is currently second on the points table behind the South African champions and will want to keep their winning run alive.

Here is the predicted West Indies XI for the match of the WCL 2025:

Top Order:

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle is a legend in T20s with more than 14,000 runs and 22 centuries to his name. However, in this WCL 2025, he has only 23 runs in two games to show for it. The veteran will be itching for more runs. Dwayne Smith has disappointed as well, as he has only seven runs, but he can be a destructive batter if he regains form. Lendl Simmons has scored 32 runs and has looked good in the middle.

Middle Order:

Chadwick Walton

Chadwick Walton has kept brilliantly and has the most runs for West Indies Champions with 110 runs in two games, with the best of 83. William Perkins has done decently well, but more will be expected from him in the middle order. Kieron Pollard’s big-hitting ways are what the Windies Champions needed, and he has delivered with a strike rate of almost 177.

Lower Order:

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo has nine runs and two wickets thus far, and much more will be expected from the legendary all-rounder. Ashley Nurse is the spin all-rounder in the team, and his role is to score quick runs in the end and keep the middle overs quiet.

Bowlers:

Fidel Edwards

Fidel Edwards and Sheldon Cottrell are the expected pacers in the West Indies team. Edwards has six wickets with a best of 4/11, while Cottrell has two wickets to his name. But Cottrell has swung the ball in the air and has looked menacing. Sulieman Benn is expected to be the lone spinner who is employed in power play overs and has taken two wickets.
