WCL 2025: Predicting England XI for Match 8

England Champions will clash with South Africa Champions in the 8th match of the ongoing World Championship of Legends (WCL 2025) on July 24, 2025, at Grace Road, Leicester.

England Champions, led by Eoin Morgan, are three games into the current WCL season and have yet to win a match. Rain caused their one game to be cancelled, and they have now lost two games this season.

Eoin Morgan, the England captain, is the highest run-getter with 69 runs from three innings and a strike rate of 106.65.

The England middle order is likely to be filled with all-rounders in Ravi Bopara, Samit Patel, and Moeen Ali. Bopara has 60 runs in two games with a best of 36* and a strike rate of 111.11, while Patel has 54 runs with a best of 52 runs and a strike rate of 138.36. Moeen Ali has played one game and has not done much of note, but his reputation in the T20 format speaks for itself.

Liam Plunkett and Ajmal Shahzad are likely to be the two pace bowlers who can power hit with the bat if needed. Shahzad has three wickets in two games, while Plunkett has two wickets. Plunkett has also scored 12 runs in an inning he got to play.

The bowling will be handled by Stuart Meaker, Chris Tremlett, and Ryan Sidebottom. Meaker has been the best England bowler with five wickets and a best of 4/24 to his name. Tremlett has given adequate support with two wickets, while Sidebottom also has two scalps to his name.
