WCL 2025: Predicting England XI for match 6

England Champions will clash with West Indies Champions in the 6th match of the World Champions League (WCL) 2025. The match will be played under lights at the County Ground, Northampton, on July 22.

England Champions have already played two games, as they had participated in the WCL 2025 opener against Pakistan Champions and narrowly lost to Pakistan by five runs. Their second game against Australia was washed out.

Here is the predicted England XI for match 6 for WCL 2025:

Top Order:

Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali will most likely replace Alastair Cook in the England XI, given that Cook made seven runs in 15 balls against Pakistan. Ali is a more versatile batter and a better hitter of the ball than Cook and will complement the already aggressive Phil Mustard at the top. Mustard was amazing in the first game, hitting a fifty in quick time. Though James Vince failed against Pakistan, his pedigree in T20s is renowned.

Middle Order:

Ian Bell

Ian Bell also hit a fifty for England and showcased his immense brilliance with the bat. Morgan, on the other hand, gave the finishing touches with a quick 16* in the death overs. These two experienced batters will continue to shoulder the middle order. Tim Ambrose, another keeper-batter known for his aggressive streak, might not have gotten game time, but he can tonk the ball.

Lower Order:

Dimitri Mascarenhas

Dimitri Mascarenhas is famous for his medium-pace bowling and hitting Yuvraj Singh for five sixes in an over in an ODI. His big-hitting prowess was on display during his heyday in T20 cricket. He will be assisted in the lower-order hitting abilities by Liam Plunkett. Plunkett is a reliable pacer with 154 T20 wickets to his name and can hit some mean sixes.

Bowlers:

Chris Tremlett

Plunket and Chris Tremlett were the best bowlers with two wickets each, while Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Meaker took one wicket each. All three England bowlers managed to swing the ball in the air and, despite their age, showed decent pace as well.
