Top 3 Virat Kohli moments in Test

One of the modern-day greats and a member of the Fab-4, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, called it a day in his fabulous test career on May 12th, 2025. The Indian batter can be easily considered one of the best to have ever trodden the 22 yards in the game’s longest format. He made the number four position his own in baggy whites ever since the retirement of the great Sachin Tendulkar. In 121 test matches, Virat Kohli scored 9230 runs at an average of 47. He scored  30 test tons and 31 half-centuries.

He was amongst the top double centurions, having scored 7 double tons, four of which came back to back in four series. He can also be considered the most successful captain of all time in Test cricket. India’s win records skyrocketed in SENA countries under the reign of Kohli. Virat Kohli’s announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, especially after his horrendous performance in the last two test series against Australia and New Zealand. Nevertheless, the King of modern-day cricket provided some of the most memorable moments for the fans in the format that was considered out of fashion. Here is the list of the three most memorable moments of Virat Kohli in the games true format.

Virat Kohli uttered perhaps the most influential and impactful pep talks during India’s tour of England in 2021. The match was hosted at the mecca of cricket – the Lord’s. Batting first, India put up a decent score of 364 runs on the back of a fantastic century by KL Rahul. England replied brilliantly by scoring 394 runs in the first innings. Things got heated up between James Anderson and Jasprit Bumrah as they got tugged in a 10-ball over. The incident sparked the egos of English players who targeted Bumrah in the second innings while he came to bat. India made 298 runs in the second innings to set up the last day’s play, where the English batters needed 272 runs. While leading his side to the field in the fourth innings, Virat Kohli uttered – “For 60 overs they should feel hell out there” and indeed it was as Indian bowlers ruthlessly scalped English batters and India claimed a historic victory.
