Top 3 talking points from India vs Pakistan clash in T20 World Cup 2024

Team India recorded a great win over the Pakistani side during the 19th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. were only able to post 119 runs before being bowled out in the 19 overs. However, the Men in Blue defended their target and won the game by six runs.

Meanwhile, despite India’s historic win, both sides have been making bold headlines for their poor batting performances in New York. In the same vein, here are the top three talking points from the India vs. Pakistan clash.

1. Rishabh Pant’s batting and wicketkeeping

Rishabh Pant

Star cricketer Rishabh Pant played a pivotal role in guiding India to a great win over arch-rival Pakistan. Notably, the stylish right-handed batter has made crucial 42 runs from 31 balls, including six fours, to help his side get the great win. In addition, the star cricketer received the best fielder award medal from India head coach Ravi Shastri for his brilliant fielding, which helped Rohit Sharma and Co. win the game by 6 runs.

2. Virat Kohli flops as an opener.

Virat Kohli

India’s swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli has failed twice as the opener in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The former India skipper departed for just 1 run in the opening game, while he made just 4 runs in the clash against Pakistan.

However, Kohli’s stats as the opener have been magnificent, but he needs to come in at number three, while Jaiswal is more suited as the opener due to his batting brilliance.

Virat Kohli was the biggest threat for Pakistan bowlers, but Naseem Shah dismissed him in the second over of the game.

3. Jasprit Bumrah’s lethal bowling

Jasprit Bumrah

India’s star cricketer, Jasprit Bumrah, was the player of the match as he went on to scalp three wickets while conceding just 14 runs in his four overs of the spell. The right-arm pacer dismissed openers Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan, who single-handedly guided the side to win the game back in the 2021 T20 World Cup. However, the 30-year-old cricketer also removed Ahmed in the death overs and guided the side to win the match in the last over.
