Top 3 Run-scorers for Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy 2022/23

Maharashtra had a decent Ranji Trophy season in 2022-23 as they finished third in the elite, group B table. They won three, drew four games and finished with 26 points. However, it was quite an extraordinary effort not to lose any matches. 

However, there were many players who came up with some big performances throughout the season from both the batting and bowling departments. Those contributions were crucial for Maharashtra to put up a decent performance.  

Here are the top three run-scorers for Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy 2022/23

3. Ashay Palkar (421 runs)

This batter was the third-highest run-scorer in that season for Maharashtra. Akshay Palkar scored 421 runs in nine innings of seven matches. He scored those runs at an average of 52.62 and a strike rate of 47.03. Palkar also smashed three fifties and one century. His highest score was 100 off 250 balls against Delhi in Pune. He hit 12 fours and two sixes in that knock. Palkar also won the Player of the Match award for taking four wickets also with the ball. 

2. Azim Kazi (535 runs) 

This batter smashed 535 runs in that season in 10 innings of seven matches. Azim Kazi scored those runs at an average of 59.44 and a strike rate of 53.60. He also notched up two fifties and two centuries. His best knock was 124 runs off 272 balls, including 12 fours and two sixes against Delhi in Pune.    

1. Kedar Jadhav (555 runs)

This veteran batter topped the chart in that season for Maharashtra. Kedar Jadhav scored 555 runs in six innings of four matches, at an average of 92.50 and a strike rate of 84.34. He also smashed two centuries and two fifties. His best knock was a mammoth 283-run inning that came against Assam in Pune. He scored those runs off 283 balls, including 21 fours and 12 sixes. Jadhav also won the Player of the Match award for that knock. However, he also earned a call in the recently concluded IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the middle of the season as a replacement.
