Top 3 players battle to watch out for in Eliminator between RR and RCB

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been amazing for the fans as they have seen some of their greatest stars perform in the rich cash league of the world. The toughest T20 franchise league is in the business end as the top 4 teams have already made their way to the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator of the tournament. The two sides have had a contrasting end to their IPL campaign. Sanju Samson’s side started well in the tournament as they were at the top of the table at the halfway stage of the tournament. However, after losing four of their last five games, they ended up in 3rd position.

RCB, on the other hand, after staying at the bottom half of the table for most of the tournament, made an excellent comeback by winning the last 6 games out of their 7 and qualifying for the playoffs. Virat Kohli has been the best player for the side as he is leading in the Orange Cap race as well. There have been some brilliant battles between the two sides, and in the article, we will be looking for the top battle to watch out for in Eliminator.

Here are the 3 player battles to watch out for in Eliminator between RR and RCB

3. Riyan Parag vs Lockie Ferguson

Riyan Parag had a breakthrough season with RR as the Assam-based batter has been the highest run-getter for the side in the ongoing IPL. He has been rock solid in the middle order for the side and has shown consistency in the middle overs. His battle with Lockie Ferguson will be a treat to watch as the New Zealand speedster has created problems with his fiery pace in the middle overs. It will be difficult to face him in a stadium like Narendra Modi, where there is pace and bounce.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal vs Glenn Maxwell

Yuzi Chahal has been the main man for RR in the middle overs. He has been a consistent wicket-taker for the side. He will be up against his former side and the last time he played against RCB, he picked two wickets. In the stadium of Ahmedabad, he can be braver in flying the ball and asking the batters to hit against and with the spin. Glenn Maxwell, whose IPL has not gone as per expectations, will look to firepower, but he has a poor record against Chahal. He has scored 65 runs off 46 balls but has also given a wicket three times.

1. Virat Kohli vs Trent Boult

Kohli has been in red-hot form in the tournament as he is the leading run-scorer with 708 runs in the tournament. He will look to give Bengaluru a fiery start alongside captain Faf du Plessis. However, he will be up against the best new ball bowler in the IPL, Trent Boult. The Kiwi pacer has not been in good form but he has a poor record as well against the former India captain, with the batter has scored 69 runs off 54 balls and he has been out just once.
