In the final of the IPL 2008, Yusuf picked up three wickets for 22 runs. CSK finished with 163 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets. He then made 56 runs off 39 deliveries before getting out. RR won the match by three wickets on the last delivery of the innings. Yusuf won the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance.
