Top 3 performances of Roger Binny in ODIs

Roger Binny made his ODI debut in December 1980 against Australia in Melbourne in the World Series Cup. He played a total of nine matches in the tournament and took seven wickets at an average of 41.14. He was the fourth-highest wicket-taker for the team. Binny was part of the squad that won the ODI World Cup in 1983 and the World Championship of Cricket in 1984. He was one of the best bowlers for India in both tournaments. 1. 21 (32) & 4/29 vs Australia in Chelmsford, 1983

Binny won his first and only Player of the Match award against Australia in the ODI World Cup 1983. He scored an unbeaten knock of 21 runs off 32 deliveries. He added 33 runs for the seventh wicket along with Kirti Azad as India posted a total of 247 runs on the board. With the ball, Binny took four wickets for 29 runs in eight overs. Australia was bundled out for a mere 129 runs, and India won the match by 118 runs.

2. 4/35 vs Pakistan in Melbourne, 1985

India played against Pakistan in the third match of the World Championship of Cricket. Binny opened the bowling for India along with Kapil Dev and took four wickets for 35 runs in 8.2 overs. It was the best bowling effort by an Indian bowler in the tournament. Binny took a total of nine wickets in the tournament and finished as the second-highest wicket-taker.

3. 57 vs Australia in Ahmedabad, 1984

In the fourth match of the Australia tour of India, Binny opened the innings with Ravi Shastri, and the duo added 104 runs for the first wicket. It was the fourth-highest opening partnership for India at that time. Binny scored 57 runs off 88 deliveries, his only half-century in ODIs.
