Pravin Tambe is the personification of never say die attitude in the arena of sports. He got his opportunity to play at the highest level very late but the leg-spinner made that count. Rajasthan gave him his much-awaited break and he returned the favor with some memorable performances. In this article, we will take a look at Pravin Tambe’s top 3 performances in the IPL.

Pravin Tambe came up with his best IPL performance in his second season for Rajasthan Royals in 2014. Because of his magical spell, Rajasthan Royals bowled out Royal Challengers Bangalore for a poor total of 70 runs in the first innings. Pravin Tambe dismissed some of the biggest names in the RCB batting lineup including Virat Kohli and Albie Morkel. Eventually, Rajasthan won the match convincingly and Tambe was given the Player of the Match award for his outstanding spin bowling.

2. 3/26 vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 2014

Another superb bowling display from Pravin Tambe and this time in a very close encounter. KKR was chasing 171 runs in the second innings and it was not going to be an easy chase against an underrated but impactful Rajasthan bowling attack. The chase was looking on track until Pravin Tambe showed up with his leg-spin wizardry. He picked a hat-trick to derail the KKR chase and seal the deal for Rajasthan. His quick breakthroughs wrested the momentum from KKR and made it very difficult for Kolkata to complete the chase. In the end, Rajasthan bagged the match by a narrow margin of 10 runs.

In the last few seasons of his IPL career, Pravin Tambe played for Gujarat Lions. He got these figures in the 2016 season against Mumbai Indians. Tambe bowled only a couple of overs but he did his job by picking up two wickets to assist other bowlers in restricting Mumbai Indians to a low total. For his first wicket, he dismissed the dangerous Kieron Pollard and followed it up with the wicket of Parthiv Patel who was batting really well. Gujarat Lions chased the score in the second innings to earn valuable points in the league.
