9/104 vs Sri Lanka, Hobart 2012

Siddle delivered one of the finest match performances of his career in the first Test against Sri Lanka, which Australia won by 137 runs. After Australia posted 450, courtesy of contributions from David Warner (57), Phillip Hughes (86), Michael Clarke (74), Michael Hussey (115*), and Matthew Wade (68*), Sri Lanka replied with 336, led by Tillakaratne Dilshan’s 147 and Angelo Mathews’ 75. Siddle starred with figures of 5/54, bowling 11 maidens.

Australia then added 278 in the second innings, with Ed Cowan (56), Warner (68), and Clarke (57) contributing. Set a target of 393, Sri Lanka managed 255, with Kumar Sangakkara top-scoring with 63. Siddle claimed 4/50, along with another 11 maidens, finishing with nine wickets in the match.

8/113 vs South Africa, Sydney 2009

Siddle produced another outstanding performance in Sydney, helping Australia secure a 103-run victory over South Africa. Australia put up 445 thanks to Michael Clarke (138) and Mitchell Johnson (64). The Proteas responded with 327, with Hashim Amla (51) and Mark Boucher (89) resisting, but Siddle dismantled the innings with 5/59.

In the second innings, Australia scored 257, with Simon Katich (61) and Ricky Ponting (53) contributing. South Africa were bowled out for 272, with Amla (59) and AB de Villiers (56) fighting hard, but Siddle again struck crucial blows, taking 3/54. His eight wickets in the match underlined a commanding display.

6/96 vs India, Adelaide 2012

In the fourth Test against India in 2012, Siddle delivered a superb spell in a game dominated by Australia’s batters. Australia posted a massive 604, driven by double centuries from Ricky Ponting (221) and Michael Clarke (210). India replied with 272, with Virat Kohli scoring a brilliant 116, but Siddle’s 5/49 ensured a substantial lead.

Australia added 167 in their second innings, with Ponting unbeaten on 60. Chasing 500, India were bowled out for 201, with Virender Sehwag (62) top-scoring. Siddle took 1/35, finishing the match with six wickets and earning the Player of the Match as Australia sealed a 4-0 series win.
