Top 3 performances of Mark Boucher in ODIs

Former South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Mark Boucher played an instrumental part in strengthening the Proteas’ ODI squad. He played 295 ODIs (221 innings) and registered 4686 runs in the format. He also played a crucial role with the gloves, securing a record 403 catches and 22 stumpings to his name.

1) 147* off 68 vs Zimbabwe (Potchefstroom, 2006)

Boucher unleashed one of the most lethal assaults in the history of ODI cricket during the third ODI of Zimbabwe’s tour of South Africa. He took a minimal amount of time to settle as he whacked his way to an unbeaten 147-run knock, an innings in which he struck eight fours and 10 sixes. He picked up a couple of catches as well.

2) 78 off 38 vs Pakistan (Centurion, 2007)

Boucher’s counter-attacking knock against Pakistan was laced with nine fours and four sixes as he annihilated the opposition with his dynamic innings. He ruined Pakistan’s death over plans and made them pay with an enterprising half-century which was filled with sensational shots.

3) 75* off 31 vs Netherlands (Basseterre, 2007)

South Africa reached a 350-plus score on the back of Boucher’s explosive31-ball 75* against Netherlands in 2007, with nine fours and four sixes. In a match which was reduced to a 40-overs-a-side contest due to rain, Boucher took it upon himself to apply the finishing touches.
