Top 3 performances of Hardik Pandya in IPL

Hardik Pandya, who turns 32 on October 11, is regarded as one of India’s top all-rounders. He has had an incredible influence on the Indian side but came into the limelight in the Indian Premier League in 2015.

Mumbai Indians had discovered Hardik Pandya, and then Pandya formed a killer finishing combo with Kieron Pollard for MI. He played for MI from 2015 to 2021. Pandya was then picked by Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022, and he led the franchise to the IPL title in its debut season. Hardik went back home to MI in IPL 2024 and currently captains the side.

Here are the top 3 performances of Hardik Pandya in IPL:

Hardik Pandya tasted captaincy for the first time when he was drafted in by Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. He led well as the captain, taking GT to the final of the tournament, and faced Rajasthan Royals in the summit clash in Ahmedabad.

RR batted first but was restricted to 130/9 in 20 overs. Jos Buttler made 39, and Yashasvi Jaiswal made 22, but it Hardik shone with the ball, taking 3/17. He took the wickets of Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer. Then in chase of 130, GT found themselves in a bit of trouble, losing two wickets. But Shubman Gill (45), Hardik Pandya (34), and David Miller (32*) took GT to their first IPL title in their debut season only.

The 24th match of the IPL 2022 saw Gujarat Titans clashing with Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium. GT were asked to bat first but lost their first three wickets for cheap. But then Hardik Pandya hammered 87* runs in just 52 balls with eight fours and four sixes. Abhinav Manohar (43) and David Miller (31*) took GT to 192/4.

In response, GT only managed 155/9 despite 54 by Jos Buttler, as Yash Dayal and Lockie Ferguson took three wickets each, and Hardik took one wicket as well, as GT won by 37 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians clashed in the 47th match of the 2019 IPL, in Kolkata. KKR was asked to bat first by MI captain Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill (76), Chris Lynn (54), and Andre Russell (80*) took KKR to 232/2 in 20 overs. Russell hammered eight sixes and six fours in his 40-ball knock.

In response, MI batters faltered against disciplined KKR bowling. With everything seeming lost, Hardik hammered 91 in just 34 balls with six fours and nine sixes. It seemed like MI might win the game from a point of no return but could only muster 198/7 and lost the game by 34 runs. However, this knock by Hardik remains perhaps his best knock.
