2. Gujarat Titans – 200-run target (IPL 2025)

It’s the most recent target chased against DC, and it happened to be chased on Sunday, May 18 2025. Once again, GT won the toss and, like the previous clash, they decided to bowl first. Batting first, the DC posted 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, courtesy of KL Rahul’s unbeaten century (112 runs off 65 balls, with 14 fours and four sixes).
But the tables were turned by the GT openers, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, while chasing the target in the second innings. The duo stitched an unbeaten and outstanding opening partnership of 205 runs to help GT win the game by a huge margin of 10 wickets. Sudharsan smashed 108 runs off 61 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes, alongside Gill’s 93 runs off 53 balls, with three fours and seven sixes.

Almost 17 years ago, in the inaugural IPL edition in 2008, Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils) took on each other in the 28th match of the tournament. The game was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 8, 2008. CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. Batting first, the hosts scored 187 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, owing to the brilliant half-centuries scored by Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan.
While chasing the target, CSK scored 188 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and won the game by 4 wickets. CSK openers, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan and Stephen Fleming, played the crucial knocks of 40 and 44 runs, respectively, followed by 33 and 30 runs, scored by MS Dhoni and Albie Morkel.
