Top 3 highest scores at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in IPL

The highest score at this venue was achieved by the local franchise Chennai Super Kings. CSK achieved this milestone in the 2010 season in a group-stage match against Rajasthan Royals. 

Chennai batted first and the opener Murali Vijay played a blinder of an innings. Vijay thrashed Rajasthan bowlers to score 127 runs off just 56 deliveries. Albie Morkel also scored a half-century. These two knocks carried CSK to 246/5 at the end of the first innings.

The second-highest score at this venue was also witnessed in the same match. The chasing side, Rajasthan Royals, showed steel and replied in the same fashion. They did not give up without putting the opposition in a fix. Opener Naman Ojha and Shane Watson led the Rajasthan batting unit in the challenging run chase. 

Ojha stayed unbeaten till the end with 94 runs in his account whereas Watson scored 60 runs. However, the target was beyond their reach and they could only score 223, losing the match by 23 runs. 

3. 222/5 – CSK vs DC, 2012

Chennai Super Kings achieved this total in the second qualifier of the 2012 season against Delhi Capitals. Delhi invited the home team to bat first after winning the toss. Murali Vijay once again proved to be a menace to the opposition. 

He scored 113 runs off 58 deliveries to absolutely decimate the opposition bowling attack. It was mostly a solo effort from Vijay that led Chennai to 222/5 at the end of the first innings. Eventually, CSK won the match by a huge margin of 86 runs.
