Top 3 Bowlers to Watch Out for in Match 15 of CPL 2026 between Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and Guyana Amazon Warriors

Top 3 Bowlers to Watch Out for in Match 15 of CPL 2026 between Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and Guyana Amazon Warriors

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will square off against Guyana Amazon Warriors in Match 15 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on Sunday, August 23. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM local time, with both teams looking to strengthen their position in the league standings.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have made an impressive start to their campaign, winning their opening two matches, while the Falcons have endured a more inconsistent run. The Warriors have already demonstrated the depth of their bowling attack, with Mohammad Nabi, Shamar Joseph, Dwaine Pretorius and Imran Tahir all making significant contributions.

Antigua, meanwhile, will depend heavily on the experienced Alzarri Joseph and their group of versatile seamers to contain a dangerous Guyana batting unit. With the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium generally offering pace and bounce to fast bowlers, the battle between the two bowling attacks could have a major say in the outcome.

Here are the top three bowlers to watch out for in Match 15 of CPL 2026:

1. Shamar Joseph

Shamar Joseph has emerged as one of the most important bowling weapons in the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ attack.

The Guyanese fast bowler has already made an impact in CPL 2026, claiming four wickets across his first two matches. His wickets have come at an impressive average of 11.75, placing him among the tournament’s best bowlers in that category.

Joseph’s biggest strength is his ability to generate genuine pace and bounce. He is not afraid to attack batters with hard lengths, making him particularly dangerous against aggressive top-order players.

That quality could prove extremely valuable against Antigua’s batting line-up, which features Evin Lewis, Rahkeem Cornwall, Moeen Ali and Shadab Khan. Lewis, in particular, likes to attack during the powerplay, meaning Joseph could be given the responsibility of trying to remove the explosive left-hander early.

The battle between Joseph and Lewis could set the tone for the entire match.

Joseph will also have an important role at the death. With the Falcons possessing several powerful hitters, the Warriors will need a bowler capable of executing yorkers and slower deliveries under pressure.

The young pacer has already demonstrated that he can perform in high-pressure situations. Another strong spell at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium could make him one of the biggest reasons behind a third consecutive Guyana victory.

2. Mohammad Nabi

Mohammad Nabi is another bowler who could have a major impact on the contest.

The Afghanistan all-rounder has made an immediate impression in CPL 2026. He produced a sensational 4/22 against Jamaica Kingsmen in Guyana’s opening game, helping restrict their opponents before the Warriors completed a comfortable six-wicket victory.

His numbers remain impressive after the first two matches. Nabi has taken four wickets at an average of 12 and has bowled seven overs in the tournament so far.

Nabi’s importance goes beyond his wicket tally, though. He is one of those bowlers who can control the tempo of a T20 innings.

His variations in pace, subtle changes in trajectory and ability to bowl accurately into the pitch make him difficult to attack. He can also be deployed at different stages, although his experience in the middle overs makes him particularly valuable there.

The Falcons have several batters who could potentially target spin, but Nabi’s experience gives Guyana confidence that he can adapt his plans according to the situation.

A particularly interesting battle could be Nabi against Rahkeem Cornwall or Moeen Ali. Both are capable of attacking spin, but Nabi has the experience to tempt them into taking risks.

If Antigua’s top order gets off to a strong start, Imran Tahir could turn to Nabi to break the momentum. Another multi-wicket performance would significantly strengthen Guyana’s chances of controlling the game.

3. Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri Joseph is the leading bowling threat from the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and will have a major responsibility against Guyana’s powerful batting unit.

The West Indies fast bowler has taken seven wickets in five matches in CPL 2026, averaging 20.14. He has already established himself as one of the Falcons’ most reliable wicket-taking options.

Joseph’s ability to generate pace and bounce makes him a natural weapon at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The Antigua surface can provide enough assistance for fast bowlers, particularly when they attack the right lengths.

His biggest challenge will be Guyana’s top order.

Glenn Phillips, Mavendra Dindyal and Shai Hope have provided a strong combination at the top, while Shimron Hetmyer offers explosive power in the middle order. Joseph could therefore be used aggressively with the new ball to prevent Guyana from settling into a rhythm.

The contest between Joseph and Shai Hope could be particularly intriguing. Hope is a technically sound batter who prefers to build an innings before accelerating, while Joseph will look to unsettle him with pace and bounce.

Joseph’s role will not end after the powerplay. He could also be crucial during the death overs, when Guyana’s middle order is capable of producing a flurry of boundaries.

If he can pick up two or three important wickets, the Falcons could significantly disrupt the Warriors’ batting plans.
