Top 3 best spells of Umesh Yadav in IPL

Umesh Yadav has been one of the best bowlers in the IPL lately. With the new ball, Umesh can provide crucial breakthroughs for his side. When Umesh was at his prime, his pace was incredible. He often used to operate at over 150 kmph regularly. But with time, his pace got reduced. But he was still a bowler to reckon with. 

In the IPL, Umesh played for different teams. So far, the Indian pacer has represented KKR, RCB, and DC in the IPL. In his long career, Umesh has given many memorable performances for his teams. Umesh is a very good bowler with the new ball and can trouble the best batters in the world.

1. 4/23 against PBKS

It was his career best spell which came in the 2022 edition of the IPL against Punjab Kings. Batting first, PBKS was in trouble straightaway. Umesh got the ball to swing away from the right handers and troubled every batter with the new ball. Umesh dismissed the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Harpreet Brar, and Rahul Chahar. In his 4 overs, Umesh conceded only 23 runs and claimed 4 wickets. 

2. 4/24 against RR

It was his career best spell in the IPL for 9 years. In his prime days, Umesh bowled a terrific spell against Rajasthan Royals for Delhi Capitals. On a decent batting surface, RR batted first. Umesh was at his best against the visiting side. The right arm pacer dismissed the likes of Kusal Perera, Rahul Dravid, Stuart Binny, and Brad Hodge. Despite the efforts of Umesh, DC lost the match by 5 runs. 

3. 4/33 against PBKS

It came against PBKS in 2017. In Eden Gardens, Umesh Yadav bowled an impressive spell against PBKS. Operating at a good pace, Umesh dismissed the likes of Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha, and Axar Patel. In the middle overs, Umesh showed what pace could do to batters. On a good batting surface, Umesh restricted PBKS to 170 runs. KKR batters chased it in just 16.3 overs.
