Top 3 Best Bowling Figures After Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Phase 1

Top 3 Best Bowling Figures After Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Phase 1

The opening four rounds of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season have witnessed some exceptional bowling performances, with spinners dominating the competition and producing several match-winning spells. While batters have grabbed attention with marathon innings, bowlers have made an equally strong impact by dismantling opposition batting lineups.

Vidarbha’s Harsh Dubey, Saurashtra’s Parth Bhut and Tripura’s Sandip Sarkar have emerged as the leading performers in terms of individual innings figures. Their remarkable spells have highlighted the importance of spin bowling in India’s premier domestic red-ball competition.

Here are 3 best bowling figures after Phase 1:

3. Tanush Kotian – 8/81 vs Haryana

Mumbai all-rounder Tanush Kotian completes the top three after registering career-best figures of eight wickets for 81 runs against Haryana. His outstanding spell played a major role in Mumbai’s dominance during the opening phase of the competition.

The off-spinner used his variations and accuracy to trouble Haryana’s batters, picking up wickets at regular intervals. His performance highlighted his importance to Mumbai’s bowling attack, particularly in conditions where spinners can extract assistance from the surface.

Kotian’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him an important member of the Mumbai squad. His eight-wicket haul against Haryana was a major highlight of his campaign, but he did not stop there.

He followed it up with another impressive performance against Railways, claiming seven wickets for 45 runs. His combined impact across the two matches demonstrated his consistency and ability to deliver under pressure.

Mumbai have won all four of their opening matches and sit at the top of Elite Group D. Kotian’s contributions have been an important part of their strong start to the season.

2. Parth Bhut – 8/17 vs Assam

Saurashtra’s Parth Bhut occupies the second position after producing a remarkable spell of eight wickets for just 17 runs against Assam in Rajkot. His performance was one of the most economical and destructive bowling displays of the opening four rounds.

Bhut completely dominated the opposition batting lineup with his left-arm spin. He maintained tremendous control over his line and length, allowing very little room for the Assam batters to settle. His ability to extract turn and maintain pressure resulted in wickets at regular intervals.

The spell was also a continuation of his impressive run in the tournament. By the end of the first three matches, Bhut had already collected 26 wickets, making him one of the leading wicket-takers in the competition.

His performance against Assam demonstrated his ability to deliver decisive spells and influence the outcome of a match. While taking eight wickets is an achievement in itself, conceding only 17 runs makes the effort even more remarkable.

Bhut’s consistency will be crucial for Saurashtra as they look to maintain their momentum in the remaining rounds.

1. Harsh Dubey – 9/53 vs Madhya Pradesh

Vidarbha’s Harsh Dubey produced the best bowling performance of Phase 1, claiming nine wickets for just 53 runs against Madhya Pradesh. The left-arm spinner delivered a sensational spell that dismantled the opposition’s batting lineup and helped Vidarbha secure a commanding victory by an innings and 20 runs.

Dubey’s accuracy, control and ability to extract turn made him extremely difficult to handle. He consistently troubled the batters and ensured that Madhya Pradesh could not build substantial partnerships. His nine-wicket haul also created history, becoming the best bowling figures by a Vidarbha bowler in the tournament.

The spinner continued his excellent performance in the second innings, picking up another five wickets for 37 runs. This gave him an incredible match haul of 14 wickets, underlining his dominance throughout the contest.

Dubey’s performance was particularly important for Vidarbha, who have enjoyed an impressive start to the season with four consecutive victories. His ability to deliver breakthroughs in both innings has made him one of the most influential bowlers of the competition.
