There have been plenty of talented prospects in cricket in Australia who have emerged into great players, but there are some who have not gone on to create that same stature in the cricketing world. One of the players in this category is Cameron White. The Victorian middle-order batter had made his way into the squad as a leg spinner when the Aussies were looking for another attacking spinner but emerged into an aggressive middle-order batter in the end.
Though Cameron White’s career started like Steve Smith’s he could not emerge as a great like smudge at all. White still impressed us with some great knocks in white ball cricket and was also close to playing 100 One-day internationals for Australia. This might have not been one of the longest careers in the world, but we still saw some glimpses of an aggressive Victorian batter who was capable of scoring some important contributions in the middle.
So, here are the top 3 best batting batting performances from Cameron White in ODI’s:
1 – 89* vs India in 2010

This was a huge example of what Cameron White was capable of when he was in great form. The Aussies needed a great finish in the first innings of the match and this is where White came into the picture. White straight away went berserk in this innings scoring 89 from just 49 deliveries with 6 fours and 6 sixes to take Australia to a fighting total. Although the Aussies lost this game in the end, this was still a great innings from White to help his side put up a total.
2 – 105 vs Pakistan in 2010

The Aussies were to chase down 275 on what looked like a very tricky pitch at the Gabba. There was a point where they were struggling as well until Cameron White entered the picture. The Victorian once again came out of nowhere and scored a brilliant 105 runs from just 88 balls to ensure that his side chased down the target comfortably in the end. This was a great innings by White where he proved to the team that he can come good while chasing under pressure. This was perhaps one of the best performances we have seen from the talented batter.
3 – 105 vs England in 2009

This was another great performance from Cameron White and this time it came against arch-rivals England. A target of 229 does not look challenging on paper, but on a seaming wicket in Southampton, it was still a struggle for the Aussies. But White had other ideas as he took on the English bowling attack and went on to bring up his first-ever ODI hundred. This was an innings which showed that White could also play the mature innings when required scoring his 105 runs from 124 deliveries. It is safe to say that the Victorian was in the form of his life in this game and we all enjoyed his innings.
