Abhimanyu Eeswaran has been included in the Indian squad for the five-match Test series against England starting in June. The 29-year-old has been playing first-class cricket since 2013 making his debut as an 18-year-old batter. The right-handed batter has stoic defense and can bat for a long time and is a typical Test batter of the years gone by.
In a total of 101 first-class games, Easwaran has scored 7674 runs with an average of 48. His conversion rate of 27 centuries and 29 fifties is yet another glaring example of the talents he possesses at the top level.
With the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from the Test format, there is a chance that Easwaran could finally get the much coveted Indian cap. The 29-year-old has been named the captain of India A side which plays a few games to get accustomed to the conditions ahead of the huge series.
