Top 3 batters to watch out for in RCB vs PBKS clash

In the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 16 runs on Tuesday, April 15, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.  Kolkata suffered a heartbreaking loss as Shreyas Iyer’s team defended the lowest total in IPL history. 

After their thrilling triumph, PBKS moved up to fourth place in the standings with four victories from six games and eight points.  However, KKR dropped to sixth place with six points from seven games, despite having a fantastic opportunity to top the table if they were able to chase down the goal in 14.1 overs.

1. Virat Kohli: 

This IPL, Virat Kohli is in great touch with the bat. Opening the batting attack for RCB, Virat gives the team a good start. In six games, he scored 248 runs with an average of 62. He has three half-centuries to his name. In the last game, he scored 62 runs off 45 balls, which helped the team chase down the target. He also brought up his 100th T20 fifty in that game. As Virat is in great form, it might help RCB to lift their maiden title.

2. Phil Salt:

Another player who opens the batting, attacking with Virat Kohli, is Phil Salt. Both players gave a great start. In the last game against RR, Salt scored 65 runs off 33 balls and was awarded with Man of the Match award. In six games, he scored 208 runs with an average of 34. Salt is a key player in the batting setup of RCB.

3. Shreyas Iyer: 

Despite some bad performance, Shreyas Iyer is back of the team. During the match against SRH, Shreyas Iyer again missed his century by 12 his knock made an impact for the team as they posted 242 runs on the scoreboard. In the last game against KKR, he got out on a duck as PBKS registered the lowest total, but eventually won the game.
