List A cricket game consists of One Day International (ODI) matches, several domestic events in which each team has forty to sixty overs in an innings, as well as some international contests featuring nations without official ODI status. Here are the three batters with the most runs in List A Cricket.
With 21,999 runs in List A matches, India’s master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar takes the third spot among the all-time highest run-scorers in List A Cricket. Sachin had the distinction of scoring 100 international centuries while 49 of them came in ODIs. With more than 18,000 runs and 15,000 runs, he holds the record for most runs scored in ODI and Test cricket, respectively. In terms of man-of-the-match honours in international cricket, he also holds the record. Tendulkar started playing cricket when he was eleven years old, made his Test match debut against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989, when he was sixteen years old, and subsequently spent more than 24 years representing Mumbai domestically and India internationally.
2. Graeme Hick
With 22,059 runs, 60 more than Tendulkar, Graeme Hick, a Zimbabwe-born, who represented England, ends up in the second position for top run-scorers in List A Cricket. Hick represented England in 120 One Day Internationals and 65 Test matches and is one of just three players to cross 20,000 runs in List A cricket and one of only 25 players to have achieved 100 centuries in first-class cricket. He scored more than 40,000 first-class runs, the majority of which came from the number three position. He is the first cricketer to have scored triple hundreds in the top division in three distinct decades.
1. Graham Gooch
Former English first-class cricketer Graham Alan Gooch captained both Essex and England. He was one of the most successful international batters of his period, and throughout the course of a career that lasted from 1973 to 2000, he amassed 67,057 runs in first-class and limited-overs matches, making him the most prolific run scorer of all time. His 22,211-run total in List A cricket is also a record. Only 25 players, including him, have more than 100 first-class centuries. Gooch is England’s third-highest Test run-scorer despite being banned for three years after a rebellious tour to South Africa.
