Three Uganda players to watch out for in their T20 World Cup clash against West Indies

Uganda made their ICC T20 World Cup debut after a brilliant qualifying round where they beat the fancied Zimbabwe. It meant that Uganda finished second in the qualifying table behind Namibia. In their very first game of the T20 World Cup, Uganda lost to Afghanistan by a massive margin of 125 runs. Chasing 184 to win, Uganda could only score 58 runs as Fazalhaq Farooqi picked 5 wickets
The first win for Uganda came in the match against Papua New Guinea which they won by 3 wickets. Chasing 78 to win, Uganda were 26/5 at one stage but a key stand between Riazat Ali Shah and Juma Miyagi saw the team through. Next up for Uganda is the game against host nation West Indies and it will be a huge challenge for the newest team in ICC tournaments. A loss will spell an end to Uganda’s campaign

Here are the top 3 Uganda players to watch out for against West Indies:

Before coming into the tournament, Alpesh Ramjani had already made his name as a potent all-rounder. His exploits with the ball against Papua New Guinea showed why Alpesh Ramjani is considered a big player for Uganda. While he is yet to fire with the bat, Uganda team management will want their star player to do his bit in the crucial game against West Indies.

2. Juma Miyagi

21-year-old Juma Miyagi was the star for Uganda during the win over Papua New Guinea. The youngster picked 2 wickets for 10 runs and bowled with a tight line and length. While he may not have the pace to trouble the batters, Miyagi can swing the ball both ways and make the batters play at his deliveries. Not only is Miyagi a good bowler but he can also wield the bat well as seen during the game against PNG.

1. Frank Nsubuga

Frank Nsubuga

The 43-year-old Frank Nsubuga scripted history when he recorded the best bowling figures in the history of the T20 World Cup. The veteran off-spinner bowled four overs and picked 2 wickets for four runs with 2 maiden overs. West Indian batters will be wary of his threat as most of the batters love to use the long handle and put the bowlers under pressure.
