Three positives from Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2025 campaign

With a 6-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals became the first team to finish their campaign in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025. The Sanju Samson-led side ended up in the ninth spot. They played 14 games, winning only four games while losing 10 in the tournament’s 18th edition. They could only register 8 points to their name.

1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi – A long-term investment 

The 14-year-old batting prodigy from Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, was one of the major highlights for the Rajasthan Royals in their recently concluded IPL 2025 campaign. The teenage talent left everyone stunned with his amazing batting performances throughout the tournament. 

He scored 252 runs in seven innings, with a decent batting average of 36.00, hitting a century and half-centuries. Suryvanshi also became the youngest ever cricketer to score the fastest T20 century. He could be one of the major long-term investments for the Rajasthan Royals, which they can bank on in the upcoming seasons of the tournament. 

2. A good set of batters for next season 

Rajasthan Royals lost almost four games by a very close margin as they failed to chase the target in the second innings after an amazing start. Besides that, RR was one of the teams that performed consistently and brilliantly with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025. There has been a good set of batters who might play a crucial role in RR’s campaign next year. 

The list includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel, alongside the teenage talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Jaiswal scored 559 runs, hitting six half-centuries. He ended up as the leading run-scorer for his side in the tournament. Besides him, Parag and Jurel also scored 1 and 2 half-centuries with the bat in the tournament.

3. Emergence of New pace bowling talents 

Apart from a dismal run of form in the tournament, another positive for the Rajasthan Royals from this season is the emergence of new pace bowling talents. The youngsters like Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh impressed with their brief appearances for RR in the ongoing IPL 2025. 

In the last game against CSK, Akash and Yudhvir scalped 3 wickets each, playing a crucial role in troubling the opponent batters. So, the management and franchise might look ahead to invest in both the young pacers to build a core bowling attack for the future.
